When you're not following a plan on social media, it's easy to forget to post regularly. Additionally, creating image and video-based content that's meant to drive revenue for your business can seem far away from your bottom line. However, nowadays, 71% of businesses are on the platform -- to compete with other companies in your industry, then, it's critical you have a solid Instagram strategy in-place, particularly if your intended audience uses the app.
While social media has technically been around for about 40 years, it wasn’t until after Facebook launched a little over a decade ago that companies began paying attention it as a powerful tool for marketing. It used to be that branding would be focused on print media, broadcast ads and newsletters (email and flyers). The addition of social media meant that companies now had another way to connect with their consumers.

Instagram is an undeniably viable platform for marketing in 2019. In fact, Instagram has officially reached more than one billion active monthly users -- which means it's now more popular than social media giants such as Twitter or LinkedIn. That's a lot of users sitting around, waiting to see your content. So, how can you reach all of those users and create opportunities for them to engage with your brand?
Having in-depth knowledge of your Instagram target audience is an essential part of a successful Instagram marketing strategy. Unless you know what intrigues and motivates your followers, you’ll have a hard time producing the right content to engage them. And unless you know when they are active, you won’t have much success reaching them at the right time.

You might be a digital marketer in charge of several brands’ social media accounts. Or you might be an entrepreneur whose business has multiple locations (e.g. franchised restaurants). Or you might just love managing Facebook pages because you’re a social media loving nerd like the rest of us.

This is where account-based marketing (ABM) comes in—and, it’s no wonder that ABM was deemed the second most popular marketing strategy for 2020, according to Sagefrog’s 2020 B2B Marketing Mix Report
