Inbound marketing is in the middle of an interesting evolution. Historically, search has been a major source of traffic and leads for businesses leveraging online marketing. But, with the growth of social networks, social media marketing is even more heavily embraced today. But, you might ask, which is more important? The answer? Both can be key to your strategy.
The digital revolution has changed everything for marketers. Over the past few years, we’ve been given more power and more leverage within our organizations. And that power and leverage has brought with it sky-high expectations. Marketing now has a seat at the executive table, working alongside the C-suite to not only deliver on its traditional short-term KPIs but also facilitate the brand’s long-term vision.
Here are my top ten results from the August 2019 CMO Survey. These results are based on a sample of 341 top marketers at for-profit U.S. companies, 95% of whom hold the position of VP-level or higher. #1—Marketing Budgets: Marketing budgets are expected to grow by 8.7% in the next year-nearly reaching the 8-year high of 8.9% from 2017. This compares to a 6.3% actual increase in the last year.
The past 12 months have seen Instagram add a host of new publishing tools to their Stories functionality, introduced just three years ago (but it seems like it’s been with us for ages, right?). In fact, Instagram has rolled out more feature updates for Stories than it has for general post publishing, which shows us just how important they consider this feature to be.

Instagram is an undeniably powerful channel for businesses to reach a larger audience -- in fact, approximately 80% of the platform's one billion users follow at least one business on Instagram.
